- Do you
have a waiting list, if so, how does it work?
Yes, we do
have a waiting list, especially for infants and
toddlers.
There is a $50 non-refundable waiting list fee
that will act as the enrollment fee once the child gets
into the program.
Once a family is on the list, the Program
Director will be in touch with the family monthly until
the requested start date nears. Children with
special needs have top priority on the waiting
list.
Beyond that, siblings of children already
enrolled in the program have second priority and then it
is the date the child was put on the waiting list that
deciphers order of entrance. Once a position
becomes available, the Program Director will contact the
family and request that they visit the classroom and
meet the teachers.
At that time, a start date will be established
and paperwork will be given to the family for completion
prior to the first day of
school.
- Do you
accept childcare subsidies?
Yes,
families should contact the Missouri Department of
Social Services to determine eligibility for childcare
assistance through the Division of Family Services.
If eligible, NEEC
would receive payment directly from DFS.
Parents/guardians are responsible for paying the
difference between the tuition rate and the amount paid
by DFS.
- Do you
offer part-time childcare?
We offer part
time childcare for children ages 3-5 years old. This is our
community inclusion program that provides education from
9:00-12:00am two mornings per week. The fee for this
service is $110/month. These positions
are limited and are based on first come/first serve
basis.
- Is there a
discount for more than one child?
At this
time, there is no discount for siblings enrolled in our
program.
- Is the
cost of lunch and snacks included in the weekly
tuition?
Yes, the
cost of lunch and snacks is included in the weekly
tuition.
- How are
meals served?
Catering to
Please provides lunch daily for all of the children
eating table food.
The food is delivered every morning. Our kitchen
manager follows the Missouri Department of Health Food
and Nutrition guidelines when preparing and serving the
food. All
classrooms participate in family-style meals, children
serving themselves and teachers sitting with them. They practice
the use of table manners and healthy eating
habits.
- Do you
have a before/after school program?
Northland Early Education Center
has a before and after
school program for school-aged children with special
needs.
- What do
you serve for lunch & snacks?
The lunch and
snacks served follow the guidelines provided by the
Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services Child
and Adult Care Food Program. A lunch would
include a serving of fluid milk, a serving of lean meat
or meat alternative, a serving of two or more vegetables
or fruits, or a combination of both, and a serving of
bread or bread alternative. Our snacks, which are served
twice daily, include at least two of the four (meat,
fruit/vegetable, bread, milk) components.
- Do you
have a high staff turnover rate?
The following
percentages were calculated in January 2004
demonstrating the length of employment of all staff at
NEEC:
Less than 1 year-
39%
Between 1 and 5 years-
42%
Between 5 and 10 years-
11%
Longer than 10 years-
8%
We find that
teachers who come to NEEC are here because they have a
true passion for working with young children and their
families.
- What are
your fees for privately paid therapy services?
When
families choose to send their children to Physical,
Speech or Occupational Therapy beyond what First Steps
or DMH recommends or if the child no longer qualifies
for First Steps or DMH funding and they would like to
continue services, NEEC's charge is $50 per
hour.
